Subject: 86'd from the Horseshoe From: XYZ Newsgroups: rec.gambling.poker Date: Thu, May 23, 2002 7:57 PM Message-ID: This afternoon, I was asked by one of the poker bigwigs at Binion's if I was Vegas Dan from rgp. I told that person that they already knew the answer to the question. About five minutes later, security invited me to their office.. They trespassed me and told me (politely) that I was not welcome on the property any longer. I was escorted to the door. Security for its part was very professional about it, and it went without incident. I'm not going to rant and rave about being 86'd from Binions. I was there to watch a couple of friends who were still among the 45 left when play started at noon. It's the Horseshoe's legal right to bar me from the premesis if they want to. But it sure speaks volumes for their sensitivity to criticism. Speak ill of them and you're gone. I wonder if Becky Behnen considered me a 'rabble rouser', as she did the dealers that were 86'd earlier this week. It's no biggie. I only play there during the WSOP, and that's over, except for the end of the final event. And it isn't as though Binion's is going to have the tournament next year, or if they do, that Behnen will still own and run the place. That's highly unlikely. Subject: Un 86'd from Binions From: Vegas Dan Newsgroups: rec.gambling.poker Date: Fri, May 24, 2002 2:34 PM Message-ID: <10cteu0i4tlis9vl2i53bfsrik0ih8a515@4ax.com> I got a phone call this morning. It was one of the lower executives at Binions. I was told that my being trespassed (86'd) from the premises was a mistake, and that they meant to remove somebody else and pointed me out by mistake. I told them that I was Vegas Dan and had written unkind posts about Binions in RGP. He told me that I was welcome to express my views, and that I was also welcome to come back whenever I felt like it. Not feeling like getting setup, I asked the man for his name. I took a friend with me and had her go in and talk to the man first. He came to the entrance, took me directly to security, and a director there told us that it was a mistake, apologized, and told me that I was welcome in the Casino. The executive then escorted me back to the casino and wrote me a F&B comp for 2 at the coffee shop. Now that I had a witness, I felt comfortable with being inside again. And I gave my friend the comp (she wanted to watch the final table) and left. I don't believe for a minute that there was any mistake in the original firing. I'm sure of that because the employee who asked me if I was Vegas Dan was watching when Security escorted me out and 86'd me to begin with. If it was a mistake, why didn't that person speak up then? I may go back around 4 pm to watch the end of the final event, but after that's over, I doubt I'll be back in Binion's for a while. I've done some hard thinking, and I decided that I don't need the money that the satellites bring me enough to go against my convictions. Anyway, the side action at Bellagio was great during the WSOP (and is at other times of the year), so why bother?
