Better than last year's. Doors opened at 2:00 PM and by 3:00 there were TEN single table satellites going and TEN live action games. A few hours later the $110 buyin super satellite started. It had to be at least sixteen tables. In fact at one time I counted only five unused tables out of 41 that are located inside the non smoking area. Talk about a who's who of poker in attendance. Just to name drop a few: John Bonetti, David (devilfish) Ulliott, John Juanda, Alan Cunningham, Daniel Negreanu, Mark Napolitano, Nolan Dalla, Hershel, Ali, Freddy Deeb, Huck Seed, Gentleman Ben Roberts, Jack Keller, Casey Castle, Howard Schwartz and on and on it goes. Tomorrow it will be the Ladies $220 buy in limit holdem event at 12 noon. At 4pm will be the $540 Triple Draw A-5 Lowball with rebuys. Finally but certainly not least with be the Press/ Celebrity Holdem Invitational at 6:00pm. Don't forget the 8:00pm super satellite and the 20 hours of single table satellites. You have to love it. It's the World Poker Open at the Gold Strike, already on it's way to being the best ever. Gary (...) Philips
