From: "Ming Lee" Subject: TARGET report Date: Mon, 29 Apr 2002 16:47:02 -0400 This was my 4th TARGET. As usual, Ken did a great job in organizing the event. The accommodations at the Mirage were a bit better than Binions....:-) My wife and kids who were accompanying me enjoyed their stay at the Mirage. I did take them to Binions so that they could experience the ambiance of downtown LV. One of my sons noted the "smell" near Binions. It's pretty funny since this was the same impression I had the first time I went to Binions. We spent all of 10 minutes downtown. It was a pretty tough field and I was fortunate to get Aces back to back late in the tournament. Patti had QQ and KK those hands. Later, Steve "Crunch" Daniel made a great call with T6 on a flop of AJT to eliminate Russell Fox which in turn gave me one of the TARGET seats. My 12 year old who is quite fascinated by poker (and gambling in general) was a bit disappointed he couldn't sweat dad. I guess gamb00ling is in his genes. I decided to enter the $1500 stud-8 event. The remaining $500 would be used to enter single table satellites. Late in one of the sats, I got caught stealing by Alan Bostick. I had KT and Alan had 88. The flop of QJx gave me some hope but I didn't hit one of my numerous outs. I did nothing in the other sat. In the stud-8, I did nothing for the first two levels. On the 3rd level (50-100), I started with (A3)5 vs. the bringin and two people that limped with 7's as their door. on 6th, I have (A3)56AA. I river a K to lose to someone that ended up with a J-high straight. I never recovered from that hand and was out a short time later. Had a great time. See you all at BARGE.
