Our daughter is 12 years old and is at overnight camp. She likes getting letters. I hope she likes getting letters about BARGE. She's been playing the flute for 2 years (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3DrxA-J5H8Xrg), but didn't take it to camp. She's supposed to be going over the music for next year's competition and practicing on a pencil. Thanks up-front to the board and the organizers. They do a great job and this year took a lot of flak for some of the decisions that were made. But of course, it ended up as the Best Barge Ever. And excuse me for missing names, dates, or events. Mon, Jul 29, 2013 at 9:15 AM Hi Sarah, We are packing and have to leave in two hours. This is a short note because I still have to finish packing and do some work and get my laptop ready and oy, so much to do. Wish me luck! Beautiful day today. No golf, though, because of all of the above. Up since 6am working. Oh well. Party yesterday was a huge success. Uncle Charlie and Aunt Margo, Rachel and Michel, Josh, Becky, Peter and the kids, Auntie Donna and Uncle Hal and Sam. Lots of pictures. Good food, and the weather turned out nice. All the work I did on the deck, tables and chairs all paid off. Next letter will be from sunny Las Vegas, where the high temperature today is 105. Woo hoo! How is your brace going? Are you growing? And the pencil-flute? What activities do you have this week? Can't wait to get your faxes (please fax?), Love, Dad Tue, Jul 29, 2013 at 11:15 AM Hi! So its Tuesday morning here (7/30/2013), almost afternoon there. We had a great trip in to LV, with Mom not freaking out even once. We ended up driving to Midway. We left only 15 minutes late, and there was no traffic, so we arrived right on time. We used a remote parking service, which worked great, and got to the airport in plenty of time. No line at the check-in desk and no line at security meant we were able to have a leisurely picnic lunch that Mom had packed at the gate. Mom got me a great seat behind the exit row were there was no seat right in front of me. Thanks Mom! But she had a big guy next to her, and it wasn't too comfortable. So when we landed in Omaha (it wasn't a direct flight) we switched to the front row where there was a skinny guy in the window seet. Perfect! We got to LV right on time and rented our car from EZ. No hassles. Then drove downtown to Main Street Station and got our room We had an hour and a half before the Mike "KidZ" Zimmers Memorial lowball tournament. So we checked out the room and got some food from the Binions snack bar. On the way we bumped into John M and Paul M. The stew at the snack bar was as good as ever, and Mom had a juicy hamburger. My table at the tournament was a lot of fun, but I think Mom was having an even better time at her table. My table had Paul, Andy B, Alan V, Bob H, Mike, and Bob O. The limits start out low, so even though I was getting a lot of good hands, it wasn't doing that much good. Then when the limits went up, people started getting lucky against me and things started going the wrong way. Finally at the end my 765 lost to a 764, and I was all done. I dragged Mom away from the bubble craps machine and we played pai gow for 10 minutes. Won one hand, lost none, and went to bed. Mom is still in bed. I think she was up at 4am for a while, so who knows how long she will sleep, Not much going on today until the Chinese Poker tournament that Mom is in at 7:30. Maybe I will have some time to work on the QuickBooks integration for the lawyers. I found a free wireless spot down the street at the Plaza hotel, so hopefully I will be able to write often. I hope you enjoyed the spectacular weather as of late at camp. How is the pencil fluting going? Love, Dad
