From: "timmer" Date: Thu, 26 Aug 2010 15:51:28 -0700 Subject: [BARGE] micro BARGE mini report I departed casa de Timmer around 7:00 pm and after a smooth and uneventful drive down 95 was forced to shoot the gap at the spagetti bowl to exit at Casino center blvd. ^Turning right and grabbing a ticket I proceeded to my favorite parking spots in Binions Ogden garage. I walked forth to the poker pit to find Nolan Jeanie ADB smalltalk, Bree Goldman and Nick C playing some godforsaken game with a name I couldn't even pronounce. I come to find the table is 4-8 with a half kill dealers choice and no games are off the list . I folded my way through two more rounds of some sort of games I cant yet get a grasp of while breif mention was made to Hoyles encyclopedia and scarne on poker. Finally ADB smalltalk (who incidentally is slaying the game) names the game. something I could probably learn enough about to quickly enough to really lose some money . super stud which is 5 card draw with a two card discard then roll your own 3rd street. then it is played like stud high low. I think I manage to either win a pot or lose two. During the play Nick Dan and I chatted about winter ARGE outing and venues lodging and same At this time with drinks delivered and table snacks orderd its the obligatory chowaha (high only) round. And one which I pretty much fold through. the next game was my new favorite. its called tic tac tomaha. dont ask me to explain it but I know I scooped one pot with 5s full thanks to a hand like A255 3 suited and split a ginormas one with a hand like A236 when 23 rivered the nut low. after winning this pot I wandered off in search of a good beer over at benny's. its a shame that we cant get Chicago brews in the poker room. after returning nolan named some god awefull hold em variant where you can check raise your self out of position. after watching one hand (and nick beat a trail out of there) I headed over to duParrs at the golden gate for a peice of rasberry cream pie and coffee. after finishing my pie I wanderd out to see what was playing at the freemont experiance and seeing nothing headed back to binions. upon arriving I see ADB smalltalk and Bree GOldman Multi tabling the dealers choice game and a 4-8 mixed game (i presume) the only problem I could see with it was the tables were 15 or so feet apart. needing a good nights sleep and knowing I wouldn't get one if I involved myself in any more BARGEish tomfoolery I pick up a small win and headed to the cage.
