From: drieck@enteract.com Subject: [BARGE] Best decision/Worst Decision Working on that trip report. Notes are a little, um, blurry :) Thanks to Chuck & Pete and all of the rest who volunteered to make BARGE 2002 happen. A couple quick points ............. Best decision of BARGE: Taking a $200 ATM withdrawl after losing a 111 small bet $6-12 pot on the river to J-6 off to enter the Mirage NLHE tourney (which I somehow WON after getting to the final table with .5 Big Blinds left). Worst decision of BARGE: Leaving my PL seat to play 20-40 with the crazy $7k in red + 90k in pocket lady only to suffer multiple two or fewer out crushers. Wheeeeeel ! Aiyah ! Oh, and NutZ sat down in that PL seat and apparently emptied everyone's pockets. Of course, I probably wouldn't have played those hands Frank :) Best BARGE moments: I had just lost a significant pot in the Mirage tourney when we're on the bubble and we went to break. I have gone zero-for-BARGE in ANY session of ANYTHING, and am on mega tilt. Randy 'Mitch' McColl (sp) took time to calm me down during the break. Barry Kornspan did the same, as did Kevin Un and others. There were MANY Bargers on the rail cheering me on during that final table. Kevin Un, whom I busted 4th, stayed around and rooted for me as well. I can honestly say I would have flamed out of that tourney on the bubble were it not for all the encouragement of eveyone there. Thanks Chat Frendz !! That experience in a nutshell is why BARGE is so special. Worst BARGE reaction to a bad beat story: Me: During the Mirage tourney, Pete Siegel (TrayRacer) is telling me how he busted out on some absolutely AWFUL bad beat. I react by WINNING a pot and complain to him how I can't get any money on my hands, etc. while I'm STILL IN THE TOURNEY. :) It takes me like two minutes to notice his face and realize what I'm doing. Sorry Pete. I think you were able to give me enough shit about this the next two days to ALMOST make up for my reaction :) Funniest game: 4-8 Must Drink Crazy Horse (Q's wild on the last round of every game) I fell off my chair when Nolan slow rolled a hand he had capped blind the whole way to scoop some monster pot, and then let the dealer play the 'claw' game to get what was probably a $50 toke :) Only at Barge, and only at Barge at Binions could we have acted like we did in that game. Sigh. How does the space-time continuum change so that BARGE passes in 5 minutes, but it takes forever to get back to the next one ? Don 'Bingo' Rieck
